The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is a non-profit aviation association dedicated to Honoring American Military Aviation through Flight, Exhibition and Remembrance.
What is a CAF Unit?
A CAF unit is a wing, squadron or detachment, which is formed as an auxiliary of the national organization. Members must petition the CAF General Staff for approval to be organized as a unit to support the objectives of the CAF.
Why was the name changed from Confederate to Commemorative?
Because many CAF members believed the name did not accurately reflect the primary objectives of the organization.
